Abstract:: ObjectiveTo develop a method for simultaneous detection of chlorite, bromate and chlorate of disinfection byproducts by using ion chromatography. MethodsThe method was based on IonPac AS19 analytical column separation and large volume injection under the condition of gradient eluent with 845 mmol/L KOH generation on line and flow rate of 0.80 mL/min by suppressed conductivity detector. ResultsThe detection results of the method showed good linear relationship at the range of 01.50 mg/L for chlorite, chlorate and 00.15 mg/L for bromate, and showed good analytic precision (RSD<2.0%).The correlation coefficients of chlorite, bromate and chlorate were r=0.9998,0.9997 and 0.9999.The recovery rates were 92.7%101.5%,97.2%101.8% and 94.5%101.7% and the detection limits were 0.22 ug/L,0.47 ug/L and 0.27ug/L. ConclusionThe detection method by using ion chromatography is sensitive, rapid and simple, it is suitable for simultaneous detection of chlorite, bromate and chlorate of disinfection byproducts in drinking water.
