Abstract:Objective To study the antibody levels of serogroup A and C meningococcal meningitis of healthy population in Fujian and provide scientific evidence for the disease control and prevention. Methods Serum samples from 1 557 healthy population were collected in 15 age groups according to stratified random sampling method. Antibody levels of serogroup A and C meningococcal meningitis were examined by enzymelinked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Results The positive rate of antibody of serogroup A was 88.3% and the mean antibody concentration was 6.35 μg/ml, and the positive rate of antibody of serogroup C was 50.7% and the mean antibody concentration was 1.89 μg/ml.There were significant differences in the positive rates and mean concentrations of antibody of serogroup A and C in age groups. The highest positive rates and mean antibody concentrations of serogroup A and C were in 6~11 age group(97.3% and 88.5%,15.55 μg/ml and 8.12 μg/ml, respectively). There were significant differences in positive rates and mean antibody concentrations of serogroup A and C in children with different immunization doses. The more immunization doses the higher mean antibody concentration, and the positive rate of antibody of serogroup A and C increased with the increasing immunization dose. Conclusion The antibody level of serogroup A meningococcal meningitis remains at a relative higher level, while the serogroup C was at relative lower level for healthy population in Fujian. The immunization effectiveness of meningococcal vaccine should be further studied in the future.
